This happened after the database was built.

  • The only way I see InboundNetworkManager.initialize() returning false is by calling Service.initialize(). That method can return false if something's wrong with the database.

Does your database have a table called users?

No there is not. Apparently when I tried to restore the DB using nge.backup, there's an error:

pg_restore: [directory archiver] could not open input file "F:/Coding/Holocore/nge.backup/toc.dat": No such file or directory

Though is toc.dat even a real file that we need?

  • I had the same issue with the nge.backup file. I wound up deleting the folder and the ZIP then re-downloading the repository. The others are around 7kb, the one in the main repository is around 19kb. That allowed me to restore in pgAdmin.

  • I'm not sure what the root problem is, but keep in mind we are transitioning to using sqlite for all servers within the next week or two.

This means that setting up the DB will no longer be something that you need to do once we do transition. All your problems will disappear.

  • I fixed the error that I was getting, I was selecting directory instead of custom DB file (durrr) but now I'm having issues in-game with admin commands. I can /setgodmode but can't do anything else.
